Our
Logo
The Balcones Songbird Festival
logo was designed by Karen Kilfeather and
embodies the artwork of Mary Curtis. Both
artists are founding Friends members and dedicated
to the Refuge mission. We are honored they
represent our organization with such talent
and passion.
Golden-cheeked Warbler

Our Photographs and Advertising Artwork
Courtesy of JOHN INGRAM
John Ingram has always been an active nature
photographer both in 35mm and larger formats.
He has published in various magazines and
competitions and has held exhibitions including
the French Photographic Museum (Paris, Bievres)
and the Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
His work has received a strong stimulus
with the merging of classical film techniques
with modern digital imaging. These methods
are rapidly changing both the artistic and
the technical sides of photography and new
tools are constantly evolving. He feels
this is an exciting time for Nature Photography
as we are able to obtain images of a quality
ands content that were previously impossible.
See his most recent photos taken at the
Refuge at www.windowsonnature.com.
Lago Vista High School FFA
We are deeply appreciative of the Lago Vista High School FFA team for using the Balcones Songbird Festival as its model for the The National FFA Marketing Plan Career Development Event for 2008. This program helps students practice and sharpen skills in marketing through the development and presentation of a marketing plan. The plan may focus on the introduction of a new agricultural product, supply, or service or on improving marketing of an existing product, supply, or service. Each team competed against chapters in their state for the privilege of participating in the national event.
